Hey guys. Great to be here!

I wanted to get some discussion going in the forum. I thought an achievement related thread would be a decent icebreaker.

So I have a question....Pain in the arse achievement?? What achievement (other than any seriously or GH related options) is your nemesis? The one that you just never seem to get any closer to completing.

I would love to know some answers as I am tackling the bucket list of Forza 4 right now and quite frankly I sometimes think I will never complete this. (How many races??:angry

Of course I appreciate that there are some great achievement hunters among us but I figured everyone must have one??......Right?????

That is a very good question and I'm not really sure what my answer would be... right now I would have to go with any of the Mad Moxxi ones from Borderlands. I've had opportunity to boost but just haven't. It's a grind and I'm not really sure I want to put in like 6 hours for the DLC. lol

The on achievement that took me forever to do was the combat challenges in Batman: Arkham Asylum.... I don't know why but they were a pain, especially when you got to the achievement for obtaining 25 gold medals. UGH!!!! I was sooo happy when that was over with.

Agree with everything Kevin just said... I've given up on those Batman Challenges.

Also that Intel achievement on one of the Modern Warfares. I was messing about and a put on a silly cheat. People explode into tires when you kill them or something like that if I remember rightly. And I picked up my 15th Intel piece. Achievements don't unlock with cheats active.

So I have the achievement for 30 Intel pieces but not for 15. As silly as that is. I deleted my save file but it seems to take the info from the Achievement so thinks I've already collected them all. I'm not usually bothered by unobtainable achievements but that does stand between me and 1000GS.

I know a lot of people are bothered by the unobtainable achievements but honestly, it just doesn't bother me all that much. I've heard / seen people say I won't start this game because it has an unobtainable achievement. Personally, if I get every achievement that is possible at that current time, I consider it completed.

Its amazing considering I just passed 250 games played I am still yet to touch a batman game so I am yet to experience that joy. Starting to think I need to though as I have heard they are superb games. (Your opinions on the Batman games would be appreciated)

I agree with Kevin when it comes to unobtainable achievements as long as I get what is possible that is good enough for me. Having said that the COD achievement would grind my gears considerably!

In regards to the Batman games, I can only speak of Arkham Asylum.... I found it to be a really fun game. In the beginning I wasn't overly excited when I got it but when I started really getting into it, it was good. I liked the stealthy kind of kills and the bosses weren't too bad either. I would definitely suggest this one. I've started Arkham City but probably only played less than an hour. Had the same feel to it but I can't say for sure. I've been thinking about starting it up again. At that point I'd be able to give you a better review.

Arkham Asylum and City are ace games, I re-played City recently and it is a quality game. a good mix of stealth, hand to hand fighting and gadgets. Highly recommended.

The later one though I haven't touched. I heard it lost some of the series' spark.

...

I've got a new one for the most pain in the arse achievement... I had finished the main campaign of Dragon Age and then came in contact with the Ultimate Edition which included all the DLC's. Well I went back to play them and the Harvester in the Golems of Amgarrak gave me a TON of problems. I actually had to go back and re-play Awakenings to level up my rogue. When I finally did that and adjusted my stats, it was actually pretty easy. I got it on my first try... but to replay awakenings took awhile. If someone doesn't read on how to beat the Harvester on Hard or Nightmare and just gives it a go, good luck to them. My level 34 rogue basically solo'd the Harvester to net the "Grim Reaper" achievement.

Veteran Performer in LEGO Rock Band... it is a serious grind-fest, going through and making sure you've played every gig at every venue -- which not all gigs are available, you have to unlock them as you go along. It's not necessarily hard, because there's no difficulty requirement, but it takes forever. Also, unless I delete all my DLC songs, I can't always use the shortened set list feature (basically play half the song, speeds it up), because unless the random set lists manage to randomly select all songs from the default LEGO RB list then the shortened set list option isn't available.

The worst achievement I've ever gotten is Gen 10 in Titanfall. Believe me, it was a grind. Most of the achievements you consider as grinds, I don't consider them as grinds.

At least with the Moxxi achievements you knew when you were getting them. Those collectibles. Way too random.

Oh God... Those Claptrap collectables. Another achievement I just don't have the patience for.

For someone who goes out for all the achievements. There are so many I just give up on.

Not sure when the last time you tried to get them Ryan but they've totally upped the drop rate to these. I couldn't find any of them in the past and when I went back to attempt getting them, they weren't as random and definitely more plentiful.

More plentiful, but still took a couple hours to get them all to drop.
