Just curious how some people feel about a certain topic. I was checking out some Xbox forums and saw a thread about the ability to delete games from your gamer card. I personally would like to do this basically because I have like 80 games sitting at home that I might've played and don't know when / if I ever will. It would be nice to wipe the 1 achievement from my profile and move on. The common arguement is that the person doing this would in effect make themselves look better by deleting some games. Does anyone see a problem with this or would you be for something like this?

I suppose it might be nice from the perspective of not wanting a game to be in your history if you played it enough to get 1 or 2 achievements, but then just didn't like it and never intend to play again.  I have Yaris on my GamerTag, and if I could delete it, I probably would. Then again, I suppose it all boils down to just how much you care about completion percentages versus number of games played. In the end, it doesn't necessarily matter.

I sort of swing between 2 extremes at times. On one hand, I really enjoy getting achievements and progressing through games, and on occasion I have enjoyed tackling quirky or non-trivial (but not super hardcore) achievements. On the other hand, sometimes I enjoy a game regardless of what achievements are available.

On one hand I find my OCD acting up because there are some games that aren't capable of being completed. On the other hand, I am not all about completion percentage.  I think my only issue is that anything on my card I would like to complete whatever is possible not because of the completion percentage but because I want all the gamer score I can that is capable of being obtained.

I do think there are a couple of games that I just don't see myself trying to do that with. One would be Moto GP 06 or something along those lines. I played it and didn't like the controls at all, didn't find it enjoyable. Luckily I don't think I ever popped an achievement so I'm good on that account.

It wouldn't be feature I would use. In my eyes it would dilute any point in a good completion percentage. I'd like to raise my completion percentage but I'd like to know I raised it by playing more of the games that I own and doing well on any new games I add to my collection.

I don't play games because it has easy achievements and I don't avoid games because it has hard achievements. And that's why I'm proud of my completion percentage. For me deleting games may raise my percentage but I'd be less proud of it. Even those games that I've played once and will never get to touch again I see as things my percentage has to overcome and I couldn't delete them.

I guess it's all about personal preference. I mean, I don't take pride in my completion percentage to be honest with you. I do however take some pride in my gamer score which is why I normally try to get the most out of the games I have. The one issue would be if there was a game I wasn't going to play, I'd rather wipe it from my card. Probably more for my OCD than anything else, but sooner or later there would be a game that I wouldn't be able to complete due to server closings and such.

I would wipe Yaris from my GamerTag more out of shame of having downloaded and played it, and thus I would wipe it from my history so as to forget that horrible moment in time. Other than that I think there are many arguments that could be made for and against this type of feature. Nothing stops you from boosting the number of games you've played, all it takes is a few minutes of your time with a game and one achievement. Completion you can't really boost right now, and even if you could through removal of games, it probably would come with the removal of GamerScore (not that 5 or 10 points here or there would kill anyone).

I suppose in the end, I don't think having the feature available would be good for the community at large. Basically it would mean that you'd have to asterisk anyone who removed games. And realistically, completion percentage would only be something that impacts people who are on places like TA, which tracks that sort of statistic.

I can't speak for others but I know that *I* get stuck in the thought process about just adding to my gamer score. There have been some games I've played that I really didn't enjoy all that much but wanted them completed. I need to remind myself all too often that I play games to have fun. The achievements are a side perk though!  I really need to take advantage of playing co-op with more people, especially now that we've got this great group here!

I think muttmagic is right and that it is mainly do with statistics. I have a reasonably high gamerscore not because I have completed a lot of games but because I have played a lot of games. I want to experience as many as I can because of my love for gaming and I like having that experience complimented by the ability to unlock achievements as I go. I do not generally worry about my completion percentage (44%) as I do not want to have my experience of playing a game affected by what it could do my stats. If you ever here saying I want to try and increase it is more to do with me wanting go back and play some of the things have forked out good money on rather than worrying about the number. So on that basis I would not support any change to the current system that once you have an achievement its on your card because I do not think continuing to add features to allow you to perfect your stats is really a necessary or fair thing.

I do sympathise (no z in this english speaking country ) with people who do like to go for 100% on all games and then get screwed by an unobtainable or a server shutdown but thats just the way it goes sometimes. I think if you are going for that kind of perfection then it should be something you are striving for not something you can manipulate and ultimately should prove to be as difficult as it actually is.
