So, while Kevin and I are a bit of a Gears co-op break, we have been planning for the future.  To that effect, we were thinking about coordinating a 4-player campaign co-op run-through of Gears 3.  We'd definitely be looking to run Hard mode, possibly Insane -- though Insane in Gears 3 from what I read is insta-kill, no downed bleed-outs.

What generally worked for Kevin and I was to try to complete 1 Act per session; though as the difficulty ramped up in Acts 3 and 4, we tended towards completing 1-2 chapters per session.  Essentially, aim for completing an entire Act, but don't quit until at least one chapter checkpoint is complete.

If we did want to attempt Insane mode, and the insta-gib becomes a problem, I read that all you need to do is have at least one person play on Casual. That way they can mow through the enemies, and allow everyone else to hang back a bit and avoid dying too much.  Might even be worth running 2-casual (or normal) and 2-insane -- then just play through a second time switching roles.  Honestly, if we want to ensure we have fun, the 2-2 split is probably best.

Anyway, if you're interested, let us know.  We'll just have to look at scheduling a regular time.  Typically, Kevin and I have played at our usual hours -- 9pm to 11pm US Eastern.

I did it 4 Player Co-op all Insane. a few areas were challenging but nothing made it feel impossible. Although this was a while ago maybe an update changed things.
I have a few arcade mode modifiers that can make it a lot easier as well, can't remember which ones I have but I think a infinite ammo or a ammo regen or something along those lines and bonus damage from active reloads. Don't remember if they help the team or just me but either way would be useful.

No matter what I'd love to help out, but I do already have it so if 2 others wanna get it with you I won't take their spot. I'll be available those times on weekends every other week weekdays.

Personally I love the idea of doing 2 on casual and 2 on insane... but if we have 4 willing participants, I say we roll it Insane style!  Maybe we could even incorporate this into the Friday night GoW boosting sessions. Might be a nice break from the mindless boosting sessions. (not that I mind because I feel we are all making some sort of progress )

Like I said, I'm here to help no matter what you decide. If it's solely an achievement thing you want I'll play casual to help you out.
But If you want a good challenging co-op session then all out insane would be fun.

I need to get this done so I would be more than willing. I like the idea of 4 player insane personally.

I'm thinking this might be a good idea for a Friday night as a break? Or because I've noticed that sometimes you guys are on in the evening, maybe it's something we can do on a week night. I guess it just depends on how many of us really want to accomplish the weapon kills on GoW. For me personally, I'd like to finish them off and keep the Friday night thing going until we're all good. Unless we break it up and do an hour of GoW boosting followed by an hour of Gow 3 Insane. Either way, I'm good.

Yeah, I have been on late a lot recently. The bloody addictive Terraria is to blame.

So I'd be happy with a evening session during the week.

Also I'm not sure if you guys have the DLCs. I wouldn't mind some help going for some of those achievements.

A lot of them require 5 players so we may need some outside help.

And there is one in 'Raams Shadow' that requires you to be the third player in a co-op game to use a certain character. If Some of you guys are going to do that co-op as well I thought we might as well rotate around who plays as him so we all get it.

I don't have any of the DLC at present, as I've not even played through Gears 3 at all yet (hence I'll be relying on one of you all to kick off the Insane mode initially).

However, seeing as I love the Gears story, I could see myself grabbing the DLC that adds more campaign stuff eventually.

Yeah, Raams Shadow adds more to the campaign. But really it's just a go here do that. Doesn't add too much to the story. Just acts as an intro for Minh, Tai and another character you'll meet in Gears 3.

The rest are focused on horde mode I think. I bought the season pass but didn't play the DLCs that much.

I'm definitely interested in doing the campaign and all the dlc too. If you still need one, I can be available whenever.

Cool, it definitely sounds like we've got enough people interested. Let's do this!

So... looking at my schedule for the next week, I'm likely available Saturday night or Tuesday night.

Saturdays are good for me to stay up to EST friendly times so that sounds good.

I believe I purchased the season pass when I got this game so I think I should be all set. I haven't downloaded what I need to but I'm sure it's still available to me. I don't think they have a time limit on the season pass. At least I hope not.

How many kills do you need for that? And does Horde/Beast mode kills count? If so, I could potentially see myself going for that. lol

It appears to not be a "kill X enemies/players" -- it's a rank/medal one.
