I've been gaming with you folks for a few weeks now and have thoroughly enjoyed it.  It dawned on me, however, that I don't know you all very well and vice versa.  Therefore, I thought I would tell you a little bit about me.  Anyone else that feels so compelled can share a little information about themselves also.

My gamer tag:  JohnPicklewilly is a derivative from a name I used in high school.  I loathed my World History class and the teacher as well.  I refused to do the homework, tests, quizzes, etc.  So, I turned in a blank piece of paper for each assignment and signed it John Pickledick III.  I didn't think Pickledick would make it past the sensors, so I chose Picklewilly.  My gamertag used to be Dee D Dee.  It's a phrase taken from a Carlos Mencia comedy routine.

My name: Greg Russell

My age: 57.  Probably old enough to be y'all's daddy.

My family: I've been married to the current Mrs. Russell for 15 years.  She's a keeper.  I have two grown children:  a daughter that's 35 and a son that's 33.  I have three grandchildren that range from 3 - 10 with another due in a few weeks.  They will be achievement hounds if grandpa has anything to do with it.

My occupation: I am a data analyst for the physician's division of a large health network in the Cincinnati, OH area.  It's a great gig!

My hobbies: I enjoy gaming (of course), reading, music and aquariums.  I listen to ALL kinds of music except opera.  Blues is my favorite.  I currently have a 90 gallon reef aquarium.

My pets: I don't consider my fish pets.  I don't name them.  Makes it easier when you have to give them the full body swirly.  I have four dogs.  Roxie is a 14 year old Long Haired Dachshund.  Like me, she doesn't move around as well as she used to.  Bella is a four year old Jack Russell.  She was a rescue and is my personal buddy and body guard.  Sasha is a three year old Long Haired Chihuahua.  Yes, she is yappy.  Penny is a one year old Long Haired Chihuahua.  She tips the scales at 4.5 pounds.  Most of that is ego.

Other stuff: Our house keeps me busy so I don't get to game as much as I like.  I met ZZ Top at a concert.  The bass player hit on my wife.  My daddy was a preacher and, yes, what they say about preachers' kids is true.  I can play guitar, a little bit of piano and learned one song on the fiddle.  I don't eat anything orange.  Not sure why.  I've never tasted pizza.

Feel free to share a little bit about yourself.  I'd love to get to know you all!

Hi all-
Greg aka JohnPicklewilly came up with a great post and it made me think that maybe it would be good to share a little about myself as well. I'm hoping more of you will take this opportunity. I feel like CGC has a very solid base and would love to see it grow but only if that meant we became closer as friends or gaming partners. I used to want to make this group the biggest it could be but what I've come to realize is that while I would like to expand, I want to expand with quality people like Greg. (just used him as an example due to his post) I'm going to use most of the same headings he did to keep this simple, I may even add to them!

My gamer tag:   Kbeau73, there really isn't a good story here. When I first got my Xbox and signed up for Xbox Live I was prompted for a username so I took the first letter of my first name followed by the 1st 4 letters of my last name along with my birth year and BOOM, there you have it. I've heard a bunch of people come out with a lot of different variations of my name but if you don't feel comfortable calling me Kevin, K-bow would be just as good. Most commonly I get k-boo lol I've thought about chaning my gamertag but could never really come up with something that fits. Any suggestions are welcome.

My name: Kevin Beaulieu

My age:  42 but sometimes feel much, much older yet I act much, much younger.

My family:  I've been with my wife for almost 8 years now, married for 4. She has a son with Autism from a previous relationship and while Autism does have many, many frustrating traits, he's also the most kind and pure child I know. I don't think he's ever had a bad thought about everyone and would go up to complete strangers asking their names. We have to be careful with who we allow to be into his world but luckily we're surrounded by GREAT friends!

My occupation:  I work for Canon Solutions America as a Client Services Representative. We're reasponsible for the inside deliveries at a clients site as well as any printing or reproduction work. My client happens to be an explosive manufacturer which is actually pretty cool.

My hobbies:  Obviously I'm a gamer and have been for most my life. I grew up with Atari 2600, then moved onto the pc with Atari 800 and it just continued from there with Colecovision, Nintendo, Genesis, Adam, Commodore 64, Intellivision, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and most recently Xbox One. I'm sure I must've missed one in there but those were the main ones that come to mind. Outside of gaming, I love fishing, playing sports and spending time with family and friends. (I'm a HUGE hockey fan)

My pets: I grew up with animals around the house and even to this day, I love them. We currently have 2 ferrets which was a first for me. Ever since I was a child I remember wanting them but never got around to it until last year. They're a ton of fun and don't make big messes other than then dragging everything into our couch. (or their nest as I like to call it) Last night we were missing the remote control so I cleaned out the couch and you wouldn't believe all the toys I found in there. It was pretty comical actually. Lately we have also basically become the church dog-sitters. We've now dog-sat for I think 4-5 families.

Other stuff:  I won't even get into detail about my eating habits and likes / dislikes but let me tell you, it's not pretty. I attend a local church and have become a Christian within the last 4 years. Some of you that have gamed with me might now realize why they don't hear me swear. I love to have fun and jumped on board with BrutalSleeper when he was making this group. He's been MIA but I hope he'll come back to us some day.

I'm not really sure what else to share but if there is anything else you'd like to know, feel free to ask!

Having a rather more laid-back group of people who are up for some co-op or whatever was really a plus for me when BrutalSleeper put out the call for like-minded people, so I joined up back in the day when we just hung out on TA. I really enjoy gaming a lot more when it's done with friends, or at least digital acquaintances who share interests and such.  Anyway, here's some introductory details about me for those new to the crew...

Gamertag: techjedi actually had its origination with my entrance to the world Xbox Live and has since become my primary gaming handle. There's some other dude out there who uses it in other capacities, but for XBL it's all mine. As tends to happen, many people will shorten it to 'tech' in voicechats, which is totally fine. The story behind the tag is not particularly fascinating. I love Star Wars, I'm a technology geek (and working with new technology comes naturally to me), so I just mashed things together until it clicked.

Name: James, but friends call me Jamie -- and I respond to Jamie or Tech when chatting on XBL.

Age: 36

Family: Wife and 3 kids.  Married for over a decade and been together more than a decade and a half, and we are proud parents of twin boys and a daughter (all under age 7).

Occupation: I am an IT geek, and for over 14 years I've worked in the web application support space. I recently left IBM, where I supported, The Masters, USGA US Open, the 4 tennis grand slams (Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, USTA US Open), and the Tony Awards. I now work for The Walt Disney Company supporting Oversimplifying things, my primary job has been to ensure that whatever major websites I've supported always show up when you pop that URL into your browser.

Hobbies: Golf, baseball/softball, skiing, snowboarding, tabletop (board and card) games, guitar, and basically anything Star Wars related (LEGO, collectibles, movies, games). As for video games, I similarly have a long and varied past with them. I started on an Atari 2600, moved to Commodore 64, hit my stride in the NES and Gameboy era, used my own money to buy a Sega Genesis, started playing PC games on an Ambra 486 DX2 (including downloading Doom over AOL dial-up), and through college I mostly played PC games or joined friends in epic N64 multiplayer sessions (with the occasional PS1 or Dreamcast viewing). Post-college there was a lengthy hiatus where I basically missed the Xbox, Gamecube, and PS2 era entirely, but dabbled in a few PC games here and there. I didn't re-enter the console gaming world until 2007 when I purchased my Xbox 360 and a copy of Gears of War, and even that was short-lived as I stopped playing games on it for a stint while I got sucked into World of Warcraft and Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Pets: A single, lazy but cuddly and irritatingly insistent cat. I've always had pets growing up, so not having something in the house would be a bit foreign to me. As a kid I had a dog, a hamster, a rabbit, a turtle, fish, and a cat (though never any of them at the same time).

Gaming Style: I own a number of FPS series titles (Halo, Gears, Call of Duty), but I wouldn't say I'm a fanatic FPS player. I own a few RPG titles, but again I'm not heavy into RPGs. I can say I'm not really a huge sports game fan, aside from golf, but I do have fond memories of RBI Baseball and NBA Jam from my NES and Genesis days. I think what I really enjoy most is a game with a good story, or fun re-playability. If the story sucks or it's just not fun to play after the first run-through, it's really not my thing. My biggest problem is that there are games that I really want to play, but I just don't have enough time between work, family, hobbies, and other games to focus time on them. Mass Effect, as an example, is one that has suffered for these reasons. I started the game shortly after it was released, but it has since collected dust, with Commander Shepard waiting patiently on The Citadel waiting for me to come back and guide him to the various planetary missions that await him.

Miscellaneous: I play lead electric guitar once a month with our church worship team (I hesitate to call it a band, because we have a rotating cast of talented musicians). I also head up a lot of technology stuff that our church uses, particularly the 32-channel digital mixer sound board (which I guess makes me some sort of amateur audio engineer). I also have a piano at home that I tinker with from time to time, but it's mostly me figuring things out by ear with no formal training. Kevin and I are members of the same church, we live like 5 minutes apart, and he's the main reason I jumped back into Xbox gaming again. And probably most importantly: my de facto stance on, "what/where do you want to eat for dinner?"... "How about Mexican?"

A great idea so thought I would also contribute!

Gamertag- StubbornBrit. An American pointed out to me when playing an online game  that I was a "Stubborn Brit" so I decided to embrace it! It's actually pretty true

My name- Sophie

My age- 25

My family- I am ShadowsofSatan's girlfriend. We met playing an online game called Wartune and we have been together for just over 2 and a half years now although it feels like much, much longer (in a good way!) We're very much a gaming couple which helps when it comes to purchasing games! I have a six year old son from a previous relationship who loves PvZ and Minecraft and a 13 month old boy who has an obsession with our xbox controllers! I guess it is safe to say that they will both be gamers, too!

Occupation- Community Care worker but at the moment I'm a stay at home Mum! Have got plans in the future to become a midwife, so just waiting for the college to get back to me so I can get started!

Hobbies- I love gaming (obviously), reading, writing creatively as well as trying my hand at reviewing games recently!

Other stuff- I will play pretty much anything! Diablo III: RoS and PvZ:GW are huge favourites of mine and although I have completed them I will always go back to them! I really enjoyed playing Terraria on the 360 with James, BrutalSleeper and Welsh Dragon although that seems like forever ago!  Currently enjoying The Elder Scrolls Online! Anything co-op I tend to play with James or tag along in the background! I rarely go on mic but am always up for playing with people!
