Been thinking of changing the format of my blog so this may or may not stick! Just bear with me, if I don't like the way it looks upon completion I'll more than likely delete and post it in the actual "Blog" section.

So anyway, I've missed the last couple (or will be missing) Gears events and while I would've liked to participate, it's been a welcome hiatus. We have a really good group of guys that work on this together but at times it feels like more of a chore than actual gaming. I'd like to attempt going for Seriously! but I'm not sure how it's going to happen. My plan as of right now will be to get back on track with the Gears sessions in mid-August because I'm not making the next 2 weeks and then see how things go. In an effort to make sure we have enough participants I'll attempt to put sessions up earlier and save spots for the basic core members and will attempt to contact them early in the week. In past sessions we've had like 9 people sign up but when I don't accept them, they drop so I think this would alleviate this issue.

On a brighter note, a couple of weeks back JohnPicklewilly, techjedi and I started working on Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag for Xbox One and it's been a ton of fun. I'm really liking the newer Wolfpack mode and don't find myself getting killed like I used to in the older AC games. I've heard you can pretty much solo level to 55 if you wanted. The only thing you'll be required to do for MP is to just play a map on each. You don't have to win it, just play it! Of course then I'll have to go back and play the entire story.

I was also working on Ghostbusters with mrtnmitchell but haven't had a ton of free time since so we haven't done anything. I did some research and think there are some things I'd like to try. I'm hoping after table top gaming tonight he'll be on and we can work on it some more. I think I'm halfway to 2.5 million but I think we need to have completed 30 jobs and something about session rewards too. It'll be a long haul I believe but it's fun.

Lately I've been working on clearing up some of my Viral Games stuff. I was able to complete Rio and The Bourne Conspiracy so I'm down to 2 left. One of which I started and while it's not horrible, it's not all that great either. Men In Black: Alien Crisis is somewhat fun but I don't like that they control where you go and there isn't much movement other than back and forth to the predetermined cover locations. X360a.org has it listed as 5-8 hours so I'm hoping to blow through this one. I've also got The Walking Dead season 2 which I'd like to finish so depending on who is online later, I might just work on this one because it won't take a lot of thought.

I've been better about being a bit more focused and not all over the place. I haven't paid a ton of attention to my Great Random To-Do List so there hasn't been much progress. My current projects are:
1. Battlefield Bad Company 2
2. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
3. Gears of War
4. Madden NFL 25
5. Saints Row IV

I'd like to say I'm going to stick to these 5 games but I already know someone is interested in working on Resident Evil 5 with me so that's going to get thrown in too! Actually, these 5 are basically my co-op / boosting list.

The weekend was pretty productive, played (and won might I add) the table top game with techjedi and friends from our church on Friday night. Saturday I played some Men In Black: Alien Crisis and finished the campaign. I tooled around in Crackdown looking for the last Agility Orb but decided it wasn't worth my time at the moment.  Sunday I finished up the Master Agent achievement on Men In Black to finish that one off. While I was waiting for my wife and step son to come home from youth group I opted to play some of my Gamefly game; Disney's Bolt. It's not a bad game and it seems like it'll be a quick one but we'll see.

So tonight is Wolfpack-stabby time and it looks like we're going to have a new member. I'm definitely looking forward to it for sure. Friday night I put a session up for Gears but I'm not 100% that I'm going to make it. There are some friends from church that are organizing a camping event at their house but it's supposed to rain so they may postpone it. If so, I'll definitely be on. If not, looks like I'm going to have to go camping. UGH! Can you tell I'm not really a camper?

Campout is done, I survived! Ok, so I'm being a little dramatic but still, I'm glad it's over and I'm hoping I'll be able to attend this weeks Gears session. I don't think we really have anything planned although on Saturday my wife is holding a baby shower for her friend Danielle but that shouldn't affect anything.

As you could probably figure out, my gaming was a bit limited this weekend although I was still able to extend my streak due to staying up later than normal on Thursday night. I got some gaming in on Saturday but due to my commitment to running the sound board on Sunday for church, I decided to call it a somewhat early night.

Battleblock Theater - mad some with Jason for a bit but the levels are getting a lot harder and it's slowed us down. We're on Chapter 6 and there are 8 of them. Then we need to go back and do it on Insane. It's been a lot of fun though!

Madden NFL 25 (Xbox One) - I was able to complete the skills trainers so all thats left on that game are the Mut Chemstry levels and such. Seems like I've got to keep playing solo challenges and eventually I'll be able to afford some star players. I'm not going to be putting a ton of effort into this one but will probably play a couple games here and there just to build up my coins for more packs / players.

The Smurfs 2 - Nik had sent me this one along with Ben 10 Omniverse or something along those lines so I figured I would get started on it. It's a really easy game and it's not horrible.... but it's not great either. There are smurfy coins you've got to collect and which are 2 of the remaining 4 achievements I've got to get in the game. Should be done later this week.

The Walking Dead Season 2 - started on this one finally as part of my Viral Gaming and I've completed the first episode. I'm liking it more than season 1 so far but I've just started it so who knows. I'd like to attempt to finish this one off by Saturday but that would involve me playing an episode just about every day. We'll see.

Wolfpack stabby night tonight, who's in? I'm thinking that even if the regulars don't show up, I'll probably attempt a couple to see if I could level up some. I'm told it's really easy to level up by playing solo but it's not nearly as fun for sure.

It's time to get focused I think! I've been all over the place with games I've been playing. I want to jump more into my backlog and attempt to clean some of it up. A good example would be Bioshock. I really enjoyed this game and completed the campaign but have got to do another playthrough to get the collectibles and then some other random achievements.

Here's what I've been "working on" that I'd like to focus a bit more on...

Saints Row IV (w/ techjedi) - I feel like I really haven't put much of an effort into this one and need some catching up to do. At that point I'm hoping he and I can get back into it.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (w/ Sir Spawncelot & techjedi) - it's been a ton of fun and while I definitely would like to continue on with this. I'd also like to start the storyline. Most of the MP achievements don't seem all that tough so once I get them I think I'll make a push to get into the storyline.

Battleblock Theater (w/ KilldbyNecropsy) - this has been a lot more fun / frustrating than I thought. It's been a lot of fun and I'd like to make this a more regular thing which means I need to focus myself and set up times to do this.

Ghostbusters (w/ mrtnmitchell) - We've been working on the MP stuff and it's been fun and until recently I thought that certain achievements weren't going to happen due to the requirements and my lack of gameplay expertise but I now know how to slime tether which should make some of it a lot easier. Like Battleblock Theater, I'd like to make this more of a focus.

I'm going to cancel my Gamefly which runs interferance sometimes and I might also decide to put myself on hold for Viral Games. I normally like to get the games back in rotation but then I find myself spending more time on games I don't really enjoy that much or as much as I would playing something else. Ideally I would love to basically say, "Ok, these 4 games are my goal for this month" and just play these specific 4 games. Maybe I'll attempt that for September but I dunno. Maybe give myself a list of 5 games and see how it goes. It certainly can't hurt. Plus this way I'm leaving myself open for co-op stuff.

My gaming lately has been a bit less focused and I'd like to change that. I'm going to start by creating some goals for myself to track on a monthly basis. Since we're already halfway through September I'm going to create a "LITE" list and then next month attempt to kick it off in full gear. I've finally decided to cancel my GameFly subscription, mostly because I just kept on adding games to my backlog rather than attempting to wipe games off my backlog.

September Goals

Ghostbusters: The Video Game
  • Gozer's Most Wanted (Successfully complete each Xbox Live job in every location)
  • No Job Too Big (Defeat all Most Wanted Ghosts)

BattleBlock Theater
  • Reach Chapter 3 in Co-Op Insane Story mode
  • Complete the single player Normal Story mode

Kinect Adventures
  • Globetrotter (Participate in the reward ceremony for the Around The World Adventure)

WWE '12
  • Wildman of the Ring (Break 20 tables, ladders, or chairs in one session (Single Player))

Red Dead Redemption
  • The Quick and Everyone Else (Be the top scoring play in any three consecutive FFA games in public matches)
  • Slow on the Draw (Get 10 assists in a single Hideout in a public Free Roam session)
  • Hit the Trail (Get from Blackwater to Escalera before sundown in a public Free Roam session)
  • Have Gun Will Travel (Complete all Hideouts in a single public Free Roam session)

Game completion goals (the goal is to complete one of the three games listed...
  1. Bioshock
  2. Cabelas Trophy Bucks
  3. History Civil War: Secret Missions

This might seem like a lot but I'm thinking it's not all that bad. We'll see at the end of the month. The only thing I can see that might get in the way is that NHL 16 released yesterday and that'll be taking up some of my time. On the bright side (not really bright side) but Microsoftstore.com has screwed up and my copy won't get here until next Tuesday which means I've got a week to get moving on this list. lol

So it's been awhile since I've actually posted an entry and I thought it was about time. I've been doing a whole lot of gaming and have been making some progress in my backlog as well as my To-Do List. Let's start with the backlog...

I've been working on Red Dead Redemption with Sir Spawncelot and we've made a lot of progress. Well, I have made a lot of progress. (he's got most of the achievements already but enjoys playing the game) Most recently we worked on finishing up the hideouts in a single free roam session but have also worked on some of the easier multiplayer achievements. At this point I'm thinking it's time to actually start jumping into the single player stuff but it seems lately I'm playing co-op most nights. (which I'm enjoying immensely more than my SP nights) I haven't gotten that far into the game and I think I've already messed up an achievement for using my original horse for 20 missions so I'll probably have to go back at some point and do that.

Techjedi and I started up Gears of War Judgement last weekend and it was fun but I'm thinking it would be a lot more fun with more players. I'm guessing we could do a 4 player co-op in this game but haven't really checked into who would want to join us. I'm guessing this one we'll be working on slowly. I'm not sure why everyone gave this one such a bad rap but I'm liking the gameplay and graphics. I like the added difficulty regarding de-claassifying missions but again, I think that would be a lot more fun with more people.

A couple of weeks back mrtnmithchell and I played some Ghostbusters: The Video Game to test out the multiplayer. We've made a lot of progress and I'm only needing one or two achievements for the MP stuff. I'm hoping he and I will be able to get to it this week but who knows. We've got 2 of 12 maps completed on Survival which is the last game mode we need to hopefully unlock the glitchy achievements. I'm thinking once I get done with the MP stuff, I'm probably going to make this a prioirty due to it's current completion percentage. (52,033 people are tracking it while 323 have completed it for 0.62%)

I haven't done much in Battleblock Theater mostly because I've been tied to Red Dead or Ghostbusters but hopefully KilldbyNecropsy and I can get back to it. We've started Insane Mode but probably only got 1 level or 2 into it.

Other than that, I've been playing my Viral Games which I'm due another one today. Yesterday I wasn't feeling well so I stayed home from church and just hung around the house. By the end of the evening I was able to complete Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs. It was fun and everything worked so it was worht it. The achievements were easy and I only had to replay a couple of levels to finish this one off. Today I'm supposed to be getting Iron Man 2 which I've read is like an 8-10 hour completion but we'll see. I'd also like to jump back into Assassin's Creed IV to work on the MP stuff as well as potentionally starting Far Cry 2 with mrtnmitchell which will more than likely start when we've completed the MP of Ghostbusters.

Really quickly I wanted to touch on the Games With Gold for this upcoming month. I've completed Walking Dead on the 360 (except for 400 days DLC) and I'm pretty sure that isn't including with the 360 version but I did read it was part of the Xbox One version. Valiant Hearts I've already completed but it's a really good game and Metal Gear Solid I have for the X1 so I'm queue it up but will more than likely just add to my backlog.

I'm currently sitting at 153,561 gamerscore so I've completed my goal of 50k for this year. I made myself a little side challenge to reach 165k by years end and while I'm not that far off, I'm not sure how likely it'll be. I guess it depends on what game(s) I work on. At the very least, I'm happy to have hit 150k.

Until next time...

Haven't really updated in awhile. Mostly due to my office being moved and not having internet access. I'm all settled in my new building and finally have my computer hooked up. The unfortunate thing is that I'm no longer able to access any gaming sites which will mean I'll probably be relying on you guys to keep me updated.

Recently have started working on unlocking weapon manuals, operation manuals and bandolier (sp?) manuals in Far Cry 2 with mrtnmitchell. We've basically figured out a decent way of doing it and have been racking up the kills. I'm not really sure exactly how long it's going to take but I think it'll take a lot less time than I had initially thought. I've also jumped into the SP of this game. I haven't been too far through it but I'm a little confused by the cell tower missions. Even when I complete a cell tower mission, it still shows as a mission being there. I'm guessing that you can either pick up a cell tower mission everywhere or something is bugged. I'm probably going to go back and follow a walkthrough of the SP stuff once I really put an effort into it.

When mrtnmitchell and I started Ghostbusters I didn't really expect to put all that much time into it at first... at least not the SP stuff. But by the time we completed all the MP stuff, I felt compelled to work on the remaining achievements. The whole campaign mode probably took under 8 hours to complete using the glitch for getting the Professional playthrough and then replaying some levels to earn more destruction. I'm having a feeling the same thing will happen to Far Cry 2.

So to keep myself focused I'm going to be focusing on the following games...
1. Far Cry 2 MP with mrtnmitchell and maybe JohnPickleWilly?!?!
2. Red Dead Redemption with Sir Spawncelot, techjedi, mrtnmitchell, JohnPickleWilly & KilldbyNecropsy
3. Lego Batman 3 with my wife and step son's half brother
4. The Darkness with Sir Spawncelot and whoever else has it
5. any Viral Game I receive which I've been slated for The Darkness II. (would kind of like to work on the first one though)

On a personal note... I woke up yesterday with some pretty extreme stomach pains and had to back out on my sound board duties. Luckily a good friend was able to cover. I felt a little better by the afternoon but decided it would be a good idea to get some sleep so I called it an early night.

See you next time..

I have The Darkness and have none of the multiplayer achievements. At any rate, I'd be happy to help out with that and Far Cry 2.

I just was looking back on my goals for September and while I did achieve one of them (got the achievements needed in Ghostbusters), I didn't really work on any of the others. I'm going to take a step away from setting goals of completions and such because a lot of that falls on who I might be playing with. I think I'm just going to be a bit more focused and not all over the place with my gaming. Which will probably exlude me from any of the Achievement Hound contests.

I've been having fun playing Red Dead Redemption and went back to it last night after the finance team meeting. I didn't really make any progress but was working on some stranger quests and collecting of items. I also did a couple of the hideouts to get an achievement or two. I can't believe I haven't played more of this prior but I'm certainly glad I did get back into it. I'm just wondering what other games I've got that are "diamonds in the rough".

So these games will be my focus going forward...

Single Player - Red Dead Redemption, Far Cry 2 & maybe any potential Viral Games coming my way. (i.e. The Darkness II)
Multiplayer - Red Dead Redemption, Far Cry 2, Gears of War, The Darkness & maybe Battleblock Theater if Necropsy wants to get back to it... or if Mitch wants to give it a go or not.

So over the weekend I was able to complete the single player campaign in Red Dead Redemption and I've got to say, this is one heck of a game. I've still got some single player stuff to work on, mostly challenges and the mop up stuff. I played some last night and I could not find this stupid horse for an achievement so I'll probably work on it some more at another point in time. The good news is that I've wiped out the buffalo! lol And I was able to get 18 grizzly bears without dying. There is still a lot of work to be done but it's coming along. I can't believe I hadn't played this game up until we started working on the Outlaws to the End DLC.

If anyone has any specific advice on how to mop up the rest of the single player stuff, I'm all ears.

So I've been on quite the Red Dead Redemption kick lately and have made a ton of progress. I'm not sure exactly where I'm sitting achievement-wise but I do know I'm only a handful away from completing the base game. I'll probably end up tackling the DLC as we get groups together. I really should attempt to find out who has the DLC and who doesn't.  I don't think the remaining achievements will cause me many issues but some of them I'll need a larger group. I think we're going to have a Gears session tomorrow night but if not, I'll be looking to either do some Red Dead or Far Cry 2 depending on who is going to be on and who isn't.

I'm not really sure what I'll be working on after that. I was thinking about doing the campaign of Far Cry 2 but if I'm boosting the weapons it might be too much Far Cry. I'm thinking I'll get to work on Darkness II when no one is on or maybe work on The Darkness MP stuff. If anyone else is interested in Far Cry 2 let myself or mrtnmitchell know... JohnPickleWilly is going to be boosting with us too so it should make things go a LOT quicker. Especially with the small map and no XP limit. (at least I don't think so)

I've found myself a lot more focused lately and I'm liking it. It's feeling like I'm actually making some progress on my backlog, playing fun games and enjoying the co-op company of a lot of CGC members. I was sitting in front of my Xbox last night trying to figure out what I wanted to play and looked through my games and couldn't come up with anything. That's pretty sad in my estimation due to all the games I've got. I'm thinking it was because no one was on to play with and I didn't really know what to do with myself. I finally ended up playing some Red Dead Undead Nightmare DLC and I've enjoyed it so far. I'm not sure how long it's going to take me but it's been fun. I'd still like to jump back into the MP for the couple of lone achievements I need and/or our friends need so maybe that'll happen tonight and maybe not. So anyway, here's what's been going on lately with my gaming habits...

Red Dead Redemption
I've played through the campaign and got all the achievements I could. For the base game I'm missing the setting up a posse one. Reaching level 50 and killing 500 enemies with a mounted gun.

Far Cry 2
Mrtnmitchell and I have been working through the Soldier of Misfortune achievement which is probably the hardest in the game. I don't exactly know where we stand to be honest but I've created a Google Sheet for tracking like I did with Ghostbusters. It's a rough draft but it's a start.  Far Cry 2 Soldier of Misfortune Achievement JohnPickleWilly is going to be working on this as well so I'm thinking it's going to go a lot quicker once we are all in the party. I'm thinking a Tuesday night trial run? Hopefully 7pm will work for all parties involved.

Gears of War
I've been somewhat stuck in the mud on this one because of sessions not happening so my desire to push forward with Seriously is at an all time low. I won't be able to host a session this Friday but I'm hoping next week I'll feel a little more rejuvenated. However, some progress was still made this week. We worked on getting the DLC maps done and we found a really easy way of doing it. I believe mrtnmitchell and I will be working on Annex if anyone is up for that. (this can be done solo but it's more fun with partners)

I don't have any specific goals in mind going forward. I do have a couple of games coming from Viral Games and I'm just not sure when I'll play these games.

It'll take awhile but mrtnmitchell and I have talked about working on other games as well... off the top of my head I can think of Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Operation Flashpoint: Red River & Battlefield: Bad Company. (maybe BF:BC2 as well)

This is Sparta!!!

So I'm really liking the new event schedule. I'm thinking it's going to be better for me personally because there is actually a plan in place. I'm eventually hoping to have another Far Cry 2 day added on but that might be a little too much with all the other sessions/gaming I've got planned. I'm still undetermined about what I'm going to do for Extra Life. I've raised some money and would like to do the game for 24 hour thing but I just don't know it's going to fit in with my schedule. Next year I was thinking we could make this a site wide thing and basically do shifts. I think it would be rather cool to all chip in. It was just so rushed this year.

As many of you may or may not know, Spartacus Legends is having a 3x fame month which is awesome except for the fact that they've reduced the base so you don't get nearly as much fame as before. Many people are claiming the 3x fame is more like 1.5x fame. Either way I'm going to make a pretty decent effort to either knock this one off or come as close as possible before the games servers close on 12/22/2015. Ideally I'd like to just be one achievement away from completion but I'm not really sure how realistic that is.

I've also been working pretty hard on the Far Cry 2 MP as well as Red Dead Redemption. I'm hoping to finish off RDR by the end of the year but we'll see. There are a couple of tricky achievements due to the number of people required. More than likely I'll have to set up some sessions.

Time to leave work now though so I'm going to cut this short... a big congrats to Freaky for the birth of his daughter!

Until next time...

Because I'd like to keep you all on your toes, I'm going to be posting here again. While I like the idea of separate blog posts I find this better and I really couldn't tell you why to be honest.

Last night I was also able to play some Star Wars Battlefront and was able to get to level 4... this game reminds me a lot of Titanfall with the exception of it being Star Wars themed. I didn't do much due to our session but I was able to purchase a couple of weapons so now there is actually a choice. I look forward to playing this one co-op. I actually almost forgot about the Far Cry 2 session until JPW sent me a message on XBL. While I haven't played a lot of this game, I'm loving it right now.

Anyway, our boosting session for Far Cry 2 went well last night, everyone was able to finish up the IED kills and RPG-7 kills. I was initially thinking that perhaps I'd work on the regular weapons but in all honestly that didn't make much sense. I figure while we have Mitch, Greg and myself it makes the most sense to just work on the multi-kill weapons. We've made some progress but we've also got a really long way to go. I don't think it'll be as bad as I was originally expecting.

After the FC2 session Mitch and I were attempting to figure out something else to play. I feel like maybe we should've continued on with FC2 but boosting can be so boring sometimes and I didn't want either one of us to burn out. I suggested Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City so we played a couple of levels of that. Considering we hadn't played it before I wasn't sure what to expect. It's actually a fun game and I'm not sure why it got such a bad rap but I liked it. I actually look forward to getting back to this one. We're only playing on casual and have had some issues so it'll be interesting to see what happens when we play on a more difficult setting.

Not really sure what tonight has in store. I might be on for a bit so if anyone is on, hit me up. I was thinking about working on Red Dead Redemption if no one is on... otherwise I'm up for anything. Red Dead, Res Evil ORC, Far Cry 2, Battlefront uhmmm.. basically anything really.

Also, for those of you that don't know... Resident Evil Revelations 2 (I think that's the name of it) Episode 1 is now free on both Xbox One and Xbox 360. I've heard it's a full 1000 gamerscore so if you are into RE... check it out!

Wasn't able to participate in last night's Gears of War 2 session and while I was looking forward to it, I also had a lot of fun playing Battlefront and watching friends of ours play too. The more I play Battlefront, the more I like it. Last night was spent playing mostly survival mode but we did dabble into some MP stuff. Survival mode is basically Horde Mode except there are only 15 waves of bad guys. We played on Normal and were able to finish the Hoth level pretty easily. We also played Hero battle which was cool because he was Boba Fett and I was Luke Skywalker. While the mode seemed rather bland, it was also fun using Luke and his powers. Later on we played a match of MP and I found the power up for a hero... I could choose Vader, The Emporer or Boba Fett... needless to say I chose my favorite Star Wars character... Mr. Fett! I've got to say, he's really powerful. You have the option of a flamethrower, a missile and I believe there was another one. It was also pretty fun being able to find power ups for the vehicles. I was only able to fly an X-Wing but it was still a good time. Zach was able to utilize and AT-ST. Looking forward to playing more of this one.

We've got family (not really family but we like to think they are) coming down from New York at some point today so I'm not really sure if it's going to be early or late for them. Initially they were planning on coming down around 1pm this afternoon but as of this morning, they might need to leave later than expected which means I might be able to participate in the Far Cry 2 session this evening. I'm pretty psyched because her new boyfriend/fiance is a gamer and she asked if we had Battlefront. I don't know much about him other than he's good to her so that's good in my book. (doesn't mean I won't try to wipe him off the face of the planet in Battlefront though)

I was also planning on attending the Friday night session but I think that is also being put on hold due to my wife and I having a rare date night. I'm not 100% what we are doing but I can pretty much count any gaming out for the evening. It'll be somewhat nice because I believe our friends will be leaving on Friday so it'll be a good time to wind down.
